Pandit Bhaskar Subramanian
Pandit Bhaskar Subramanian was born into a family of musicians. His late grandfather Pandit Narayana Bhagavather was a court musician in the palaces of Trivancore and Mysore. His brother is a well known violin artist for all India Radio, and his sister plays sitar. Pandit Subramanian learned Hindustani classical Music from Pandit. V.U. Rajurakar, whose musical style is of the Gwalior gharana. Under the guidance of his teacher, he completed a masters degree in Music from Khairagarh University in 1978. Subramanian Sir worked as a music teacher in Bharatya Vidhya Bhavans Public School for seven years from 1977 to 1984. He then joined the Government College of Music and Dance and eventually worked as a lecturer for 20 years from 1984 to 2004. He was asked by our Divine Mother to take up the music faculty in Her prestigious academy Shri P.K.Salve Kala Pratishthan Vaitarna in 2003. As a result he and Ustad Iqbal Khan performed at the Inagural function of the Academy in 2003.
With a sweet and melodious voice, Pandit Subramanian sings in the forms of Khayal, Tumri, Dadara, Tappa, Tarana, Bhajan, and Geet. He is a well respected artist of All India Radio and television, and has conducted professional concerts in many countries across the globe. He is also on the Panel of Examiners for musical exams in the University of Andhra Pradesh.
Subramaninji matured in the musical community personally interacting with and observing such renowned artists such as Pt.Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, and Dr.Kumar Gandharva.
He has performed in various music festivals in India, aswell as many other countries.
Subramanian Sir is now currently a teacher at this Music Academy founded by our Divine Mother, where he enjoys teaching Shri Matajis bhaktas.
Before knowing of Sahaja Yoga; as a musical artist, Subramanian Sir was invited to peform for Shri Mataji in the city of Hyderabad. There he received the Darshan of Shri Mataji as he sang for her as she was worshipped in the form of Adi Kundalini. In the following two days he sang for public programs in the presence of Shri Mataji, and he too received self-realization from Shri Mataji at that time.
By the blessings of Shri Mataji, Subramanianji has been able to perform for Sahaja Yogies all over Europe, Russia, China, India, and the U.S.A.
Subramanian has written many classical and semi classical bandish in various languages. Many of them were composed for Sahaja Yoga, which help to improve vibrations, aswell as help in achieving deeper meditations.
